The Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance was formed to unite and promote the American Viticulture Area known as the Sta. Rita Hills.
There are three types of membership options listed in the bylaws of our Alliance.
Grower membership – owns or leases vineyard(s) in the AVA
Producer membership – produces wine from the Sta. Rita Hills AVA and state so on their wine labels.
Commercial membership – enterprises with business interests that are deemed by members of the Board to be compatible with the goals of the Alliance.
The mission of the Alliance is to promote the viticulture and enological business interests of its Members, as they relate to grapes and wine from the Sta. Rita Hills American Viticulture Area (the ‘Appellation’).
The Alliance shall market the message that wines made from cool-climate grape varietals grown in the Appellation, especially pinot noir and chardonnay, are of the highest quality. It will do so through means that include, but are not limited to, personal and e-mail contacts, educational symposia, media outlets and outreach to the public and/or trade.
