Many of our member wineries welcome visitors to their tasting rooms or wineries; many have set hours that they are open to the public and others taste by appointment only. You may also find many members of the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance at regional tastings, so please stop by their table, have a taste of fine Sta. Rita Hills wine and say hello!

All Aboard for Wine Tasting with premium Sta. Rita Hills Wineries!
Ride the rails with Kessler-Haak, Sanford Winery and Zotovich Winery.
Enjoy tasting Sta. Rita Hills wines, presented by the winemakers from prestigious wineries, as you roll down the rails drinking in exquisite vistas of our Central Coast countryside. The trip route includes spectacular views of the legendary surfing beaches of Hollister and Cojo-Jalama ranches, the massive rocket launch towers of Vandenberg Air Force Base, marine, avian and terrestrial wildlife and much more. Far from Highway 101, we’ll travel along the historic trails etched by the Spanish expeditions led by Portola and Anza in the 1700s.
You will also have the opportunity to order wines from these producers for shipment or pickup after the trip
Our tour will depart at approximately 10:22 a.m. from the Santa Barbara Amtrak station (arrive at 10:00 a.m.to pick up your tickets, please) with a short stop (30-40 minutes) at the San Luis Obispo Amtrak station. The train will arrive back in Santa Barbara at approximately 4:30 p.m. A gourmet box lunch is included to enjoy with the wines as we travel north to San Luis Obispo. All wines for tasting will be provided by your winery hosts and no outside wines will be permitted.
Your classy conveyances will be: the charming 1949 Pullman club car Overland Trail, recently featured on the Travel Channel’s documentary show “Tricked Out Trains” and also honored at the centennial celebration of Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This superbly restored rail car is equipped with an authentic barber shop, comfortable loveseats, a quarter circle bar, plush club chairs and dining tables with seating for just 36 passengers. Pacific Trail is a long-distance coach with huge picture windows and reclining seats. You’ll have the opportunity to ride on both rail cars to experience the history and allure of these lovingly restored rail cars. We’ll switch cars at the San Luis Obispo Amtrak station.
